NEVER LOSE YOUR SENSE OF WONDER
My name is Heather and I am a mother of two amazing kiddos and a wife to an incredible man. I love all things crafty and creative. I'm fairly new to gardening although I have watched others and learned quite a bit. I've always had a dream of a garden and I'll tell you nothing feels better than the feeling of accomplishment from seeing your hard work bring your dream to fruition. I couldn't have done this without the support of my husband and parents. They provided me with a wealth of garden knowledge and helped build all of my random ideas that I see on Pinterest. Now I have an outdoor space that I truly love. It's a beautiful space but I love that it is more than beauty to be observed- it's interactive. My garden is full of life lessons if you look closely.
I have to pay tribute to my wonderful grandparents that have left such a powerful legacy. Howard "Jim" Thompson and Mary Etta Thompson were such wonderful people and farming was their lives. They lived in Ocilla, Georgia on a nice acreage and raised crops. My dad tells me that me they grew peanuts, corn and tobacco. They would take what they grew down to the farmers market to sell. They had 15 children which is unfathomable in this day and age. I will always cherish memories of my granddaddy calling me "Peanut" and having us all sit together and shell peas or an uncle coming over with a pick up truck full of plums. Us kids ate plums till we were sick! They were amazing people, a dying breed and I miss them every day. Something about growing plants in the earth is in my blood and I'm sure it has something to do with these two.
